A senior IT lead on call, without a full-time salary.

Monthly planning and support with clear scope. Business-hours help, not a 24/7 help desk, unless we sign a custom SLA.

The problem

You are past the point where "ask a friend" works, but not ready for a full-time IT hire or a large managed service contract. Projects get done sporadically. Nobody owns the roadmap.

What you get

  • Regular technology review cadence
  • Vendor and license management help
  • A simple roadmap tied to your business calendar
  • Block of hours for help requests and small projects (plan-dependent)
  • Security review cadence on higher tiers
  • Budget planning and vendor negotiation support on Partner

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Kickoff

Inventory systems, vendors, and pain points.

  2. Step 2

    Choose a plan

Check-in, Support, or Partner based on how much help you need.

  3. Step 3

    Monthly rhythm

Reviews, requests, and small improvements on a predictable cadence.

  4. Step 4

    Adjust

Scale hours up or down as the business changes.

Check-in

Monthly or quarterly review, vendor and license management, and a simple roadmap. Best when things are mostly stable and you want accountability.

Scope notes: Business-hours support. Response targets are best effort unless a custom SLA is signed. This is not a 24/7 help desk.

What is not included: Unlimited after-hours emergency coverage, large projects outside the hour block (those are quoted separately), and work that requires licensed trades beyond IT.

Who it is for

Businesses that want a senior contact for planning and day-to-day IT without hiring full-time.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a managed service provider?

You work directly with Jack, not a ticket queue. Scope is transparent monthly hours and planning, not a black-box bundle.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Retainers are month-to-month after any agreed kickoff period written in your agreement.

What if I need after-hours help?

Best effort when available, or a separately quoted emergency visit. Custom SLAs are possible for Partner clients.

Can I start with a project first?

Absolutely. Many clients begin with security, Microsoft 365, or network work, then add a retainer.

Not sure where to start?

Book a free 30-minute IT checkup. We will look at your email, backups, network, and security, and tell you plainly what matters and what does not.
